The Story:In this action comedy, Simon ("SHAUN OF THE DEAD") Pegg plays Police officer Nicholas Angel -- London's top cop. This tough law enforcer is good at his job - so good, in fact, that he makes his colleagues look bad. As a result, his superiors "promote" him to the village of Sandford, where all is garden parties and neighborhood watch meetings. Partnered with Danny Butterman (Nick ("KINKY BOOTS") Frost), an oafish but well-meaning young local cop, Angel struggles to adapt. But he just can't, until a series of grisly "accidents" indicates that foul play is afoot. Suddenly, this seemingly idyllic town is a case that Angel has to crack - hard. The eagerly anticipated second feature from the co-creators of 2004's award-winning sleeper hit "SHAUN OF THE DEAD."

What this tells me about the opening the of my movie.
The genre of this movie is comedy with a sub-genre of action as it has a number of action scenes in this movie.
One major factor why Hot Fuzz was so successful is that it has a low price to produce as opposed to movies like Avatar. Having a low priced film involves a element of risk but if it pays off, then the film will be highly successful which is what we see in Hot Fuzz. Another low budget film that was highly successful is Gran Torino and so it's rather encouraging when looking at an urban film like this and seeing how successful it's become.
Like most of the movies most similar to mine that i have done a audience profiling on, the class that watch it is very spread out which again backs up the idea that people from all classes will want to watch my movie. The gender that dominate this movie is males and this could be because of the guns and fast paced action scenes. My initial thought was that my target gender will be men because of the guns where movies such as Green Street and Hot Fuzz clearly support.
The ages that went to watch it varied from 15-45 but the majority that watched it were in the 15-34 age bracket. This suggests my movie should be aimed at older teenagers and young adults. Moreover the age certificate given to this movie is a 15 which not only supports the idea that my movie will be aimed at 15+ but also shares the same certificate as similar movies.

What we are going to do to appeal to this audience?
In order to appeal to this very male dominated audience, we must have fast paced action scenes as well as non diagetic sound which will add more suspense onto it. I believe that having actors that are around the age of the target audience will make it more successful as well.
